Our vision is like the foreplay of our lives. Our vision creates our reality.
As long as I can remember, I have held so many wishes. They incepted in my childhood. Mostly my wishes were about our world and the human experience. I can see now how what I was noticing, what caught my attention, what seemed to keep space in my thoughts, were all seeds and signs of where I was headed.
This is happening for every one of us.
We just don’t live in a world that encourages us to see that as information, as very important information. Perhaps if you had a parent, likely a free-spirited, artist parent (or elder) you may have cultivated this awareness to life. Mostly, however, we are busy growing into all the systems and constructs that were created far before we arrived.
And yet, we are being guided from the earliest stages of life what our nature, our soul, our innate parts are drawn towards.
What we are drawn towards is a precursor to that which we are here to bring and share. Our gifts. Our purpose.
The landscape of a childhood has many variables and has evolved and shifted exponentially since I was a kid. Gone are the days of spending all day playing on the street or a friends backyard basically using our imaginations to create fun and learning. We do, however, have unbounded access to so much via the internet. This access can and does instigate all kinds of new adventures which draw us to more information about ourselves and why we are here.
Whatever the year, generation, or origin of where we enter our human experience this unfolding is occuring. It is revealing whether we like it or not, our superpower(s). Yes, we DO have superpowers. We have unique ones and we have ones we share with others. Our superpowers often related to our purpose are making itself known through our gorgeous lives. In that gorgeousness we will walk through many hills and valleys; it is however all for our growth and for our learning. All of that growth and learning is preparing us for what is wanting to come with us, and through us - through our existence. We are given many signs along the way. We just need to be open and curious, and pay attention.
In all of our powers, a very potent one, is what we hold in our minds.
What we hold in our minds is in essence our vision. It is the lens from which we create our entire lives. What we think about and what we believe impact how we move in our world. This plays out in our day to day, and if we took time to reflect back on our lives, we can see a direct connection to where we are in life, to where we placed our focused.
What’s also quite astonishing is our inner vision, the Knowing that is attempting to connect us to our purpose, will be trumped by the vision of the mind. The ego mind, often unconsciously is the first and louder voice. It is attempting to keep us safe and essentially stuck. Our innate, inner vision however, is and will continue to transmit messages in service to us until we take our last breath.
It’s true as we get older we layer on a lot of stuff. The roles we take on and the responsibilities we assume are often taking shotgun in our lives. With that we have to cultivate a practice of hearing our inner guidance so we can make whole-based decisions. A whole-based decision is when we have slowed down to make the decision, especially important ones, from a place that is a representation of our whole self. A whole self is not the career or job we have or the role we play. Our whole self is our integrated self. The Self with a capital S, and that considers all our parts. It considers our roles, our responsibilities, our ideas, our thoughts, and our heart, our gut or our Soul.

What vision am I creating my life from? How might I update my vision?
How has my soul or inner wisdom made itself known to me? What have I done with that information? How has that insight directed my life?
What core beliefs am I holding that may be running interference with my purpose? Ex: Life is hard. I don’t have time. Its never going to happen for me.
We are just getting started in this new year. This is a perfect time to gift yourself some space to reflect, acknowledge challenges and wins, and to look ahead.
